'Australi's VETTE shoot

Postby australi » Sat Apr 14, 2007 10:48 am

OK; the cats out of the bag - had the Australian photographer for the USA mag VETTE here this week, shooting 'The Dark lord' (A.K.A. 'Baby') for them. :-D

Tony & his wife/assistant Mandy are really nice, down to Earth people - they know there's a hot coffee awaiting them ANYTIME they're in town.

Here are a few pics of MY photo shoot OF the photo shoot!

Mate, cheers & I can't wait for you to take it for a drive and see if you like it (PS; it's NOT a stingray). MY photo's here don't do the car justice (Not until I finally get myself a CANON EOS 5D at least) but I have NO doubt that Tony's photographs will show the car in a much closer to life way - I actually said as I looked at my car soon after the photo shoot started "Gee that's a nice car!" :-D

hehehe, notice how I cunningly called it a 'vette' - no mention of Stingray - Oh yeah baby, I knows the rulz!

I love the C3 Stingray shape........... (can't complain about that either hehe).

In fact the 'The Dark Lord' lives in that realm between worlds, it's got C3 heritage but many of the clunky bits like Steering and Tranny have been upgraded, you are one lucky bugger!!!

Congrats mate, can't wait to see the Dark Lord in the mag. I guess it may take a while before they go to print????

Please let me know when it's about to happen, our local newsagent stocks quite an impressive range of vette mags each month. They're not cheap but at least he's nice enough to carry them as regular items.

Which car are you going to bring to the Cleveland Auto Spectacular?

Luckily, I only have one choice from. See Ya there :o :)
Could have been the beginning of the end if I wasn't already in the middle.

:D all!

Am just tidying up my 'story' to accompany the tech sheets VETTE needed, and yes, I DO mention the main website...However I fully suspect that the magazines journalists will word things as they see fit.

Yep for sure; and MY pictures don't do the car justice at all - she looked SO MUCH better than this in the flesh!

Maybe I might get a few rolls of professional film out from the fridge one day and shoot it on my old SLR & Medium format camera gear (Will be the first time in probably well over 10 years to shoot on film).

I just rang the photographer and his wife to thank them for the pics and they say that Vette magazine (who commissioned the shoot) normally are pretty fast, like next edition or the one after, to print the latest cars that they've shot. So look out for 'The Dark Lord' (AKA 'Baby') in maybe next edition or soon anyhow (& let ME know if you see it first!) :-x :-D
